There is something about being around a table.

Long before Bloomjong was a business, it was a Sunday. A Thursday. A Friday. For both of us, weekly family dinners were simply how life worked growing up: a table crowded with dishes, voices overlapping, nobody in a hurry to leave. Some of our best memories are not tied to any single occasion. They are ordinary evenings spent lingering a little longer than we needed to, together.

We’re Jessica and Suelin, cousins, co-founders, and the women behind Bloomjong. As Chinese women, mahjong has always been part of our lives. It found us the same way the family table did. It never asked to be the main event. It was simply another reason to pull up a chair, another excuse to stay a while longer. The click of the tiles, the shuffle, the laughter between hands: that is the family dinner table, extended.
